Bland världens alla mikrofoner representerar Milab SRND 360 lite av en revolution. Den möjliggör högkvalitativ inspelning med 5.0/5.1- och 6.0/6.1-surroundljud med endast en mikrofon.
Milab SRND 360 är byggd runt tre matchade, rektangulära DC-196-kapslar. Dessa används som kardioider (njurar) och placeras i 120° vinkel till varandra. Genom att kombinera signalen från två närliggande kardioid-kapslar, skapas 1 (extra) faktisk output mellan dem.
SRND 360n kombinerar sina tre riktiga kapslar och tre simulerade kapslar i olika konfigurationer för att på så sätt producera sex individuella kardioid-outputs i 60º vinkel till varandra. Dessa outputs kan användas i en rad variationer av stereo, multichannel och surround-format.
